About mpd57

me100100

I am Mike Perridge (known across the interweb as mpd57),  artist, unprofessional creative,  designer, maker, scribbler, thinker, blogger, unorthodox hindu, comic collector, northern soul aficionado, cineaste, late night surfer, patriot, revolutionary, liberal leftie, lazy ugly fat bastard … and I write this blog. It’s about the stuff I like. Mostly comics, but also books, design, movies, music or just whatever I feel like blogging about.

You can contact me at the following address: contact@mpd57.co.uk and if for some strange reason you wanna be my friend you can find me on Facebook or even MySpace and most days on Twitter – use whatever is convenient for you!

I cover everything that goes on over at www.zudacomics.com. My zuda profile is here should you wish to see what strips I like and you can also discover the stupid things I say by visiting me on the DC message boards here.

Everything here is only my uneducated opinion, though sometimes I’ll invite a guest blogger to throw some more educated interest your way. Guest bloggers include from time to time:

RBerry_chipRobert Berry grew up in and around downtown Detroit, attended Wayne State University to study painting, showed in numerous galleries in the city and read quite a lot of comicbooks. He moved to Philadelphia and away from the comfortable nest of easel painting to make stories. Somewhere in that nebulous zone between webcomics and film there seems to be a new kind of story-media forming which has taken his attention away from narrative painting (though he still spends inordinate amounts of time trying to make pretty pictures). His work can be found here Ulysses ‘Seen’ and even here The Hammer.

RKB_chip Rodney K Brown dispenses his own brand of opinion over over at Pigs of the Industry where he blogs on all kinds of comic related issues, current and historical. Hailing from Tennessee, Rodney is also a regular commentator on DC’s webcomic competition Zuda, but his interests stretch all the way back to the Golden Age and probably beyond. Don’t even get him started!

Paul_chipPaul Housley (AKA Illinest) is also one of the earliest subscribers to Zuda and he has been commenting on the webcomic competition from the very beginning.  No competition entry is complete without damning criticism or enthusiastic praise from this artist, veteran and critic out of Harrisburg, PA. Sometimes he takes himself a little too seriously, but rest assured that he loves everyone’s comics.

If you want to send me things for review or for inclusion in my weekend aggregator slot then please do so. If I don’t respond or include it, don’t feel bad – I have very narrow tastes ;-)
